Rule-based automation vs. RPA: the difference that confuses most people
The difference between rule-based automation and RPA is in which systems they touch — not in how "intelligent" they are. That is the pattern most commonly seen in SMBs that grew by adding people instead of systematizing: the knowledge of the complete process lives in one or two people's heads, and when that person is absent, the process gets stuck exactly where they intervened.
